The teachers leading the approximately 100 second grade students with their project were Beth Coddaire, Janet Hoffman, Kaitlyn Nagle and Steve Wurtzler.

Hoffman and Wurtzler helped to deliver the donations to The Wish Project on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 19.

“The volunteers were tremendously grateful for our contribution again this year and just love that the second graders continue to help others in their community by organizing and running this annual event,” Hoffman said.

The project ties into the second-grade curriculum of studying communities, as well as the social/emotional focal points promoting kindness, empathy and gratitude.

In addition, Wurtzler’s class was able to work on their math skills while counting all the donations on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
